Hi Everyone,

Just as we did last year, we at CraftSoft are offering clearance prices on our excess fabric and cross-stitch kits. Many people took advantage of the white evenweave and Edinburgh linen we sold last year and were all pleased with their purchases.

The prices are REALLY low. For example, 2 yards x 60" wide MCG Textiles Aida cloth, for US$12.00 . And 1 yard x 54" wide of Wichelt Jobelan for US$20.00 . You'll never see prices this low again. Buy for yourself, or for your stitching club or friends. One order will be enough fabric for many projects. (Due to shipping costs, we can only sell fabric within Canada and the US)

This is also your last chance to buy Pam Kellogg's kits and leaflets and the price is much less than wholesale, with most leaflets selling for only $1 each. Any kits or leaflets not sold by August 1st will be destroyed, and you won't have a chance to buy them again. This is the lowest price they will ever be. They make great Christmas gifts, and they are great to stitch yourself.

If you can, please post this notice on other boards so that all your fellow stitchers can take advantage of this clearance sale. This is not something I would ordinarily request. I just don't visit the other bulletin boards.

I just went to the CraftSoft site and saw several things I would like to order -- easily enough to meet the minimum.

Is there a large stock of most items or are some low in quantity? Like...should I order right away or will it be ok to wait until closer to the end of July? The reason I'm asking is that our family is on vacation and I don't want to max out our credit cards

since we've still got to use them for vacation expenses. But if anything is running low, I'll go ahead and order.

I took advantage of the sale, and I'm so glad I did. I would encourage all of you to do the same. The kits are really nice. The floss is already sorted onto cards, so there is no confusion. The charts are of good quality, and I'd been eyeing the ones I ordered for a long time. The prices are better than you'll find at discount stores, but you won't find these designs there, and not this quality either. I did buy a couple for gifts, looking at wish lists of my Internet stitching friends, and I'm thinking of ordering more, as I think the kits would make great exchange gifts for Internet stitching groups. They'll never guess you spent so little.

I'll be posting this around, and on my Yahoo Groups. Thanks for continuing to offer these, Chris!

Hi Chris, I went and had a good look round the site today, was ready to order some fabric, what a bargain price it was until I went to the shipping part, it was $40 to ship to Ireland. Fabric was $12, altogether it was going to cost me over $50 so I cancelled it straight away. It's a shame as I really wanted the fabric but I really couldn't pay that much for the shipping.
Thanks though for letting us know about the sale. I bet loads of people will get some really great bargains.
It's only now when I read down further through your post I see where you say "due to shipping charges you can only post fabric to US and Canada", so it's my own fault for not reading fully through your post before trying t order thefabric. All I need was the word SALE though and I was off for a look.........women and sales......go really well together, lol.

Regarding the stuff I have available, I have a fair amount of the aida cloth, and the evenweave, but not much of the Jobelan.

The kits are selling quickly so I'd place an order as soon as you can. One of them (Seasons) is already sold out.

Regarding the shipping of fabric overseas, I could offer surface (sea) shipping, but it would take forever to arrive. Plus, customs people tend to like to tack on very large duties on fabrics. It could wind up being way too expensive for someone to order fabric that way, especially in larger sizes (2 yards is a lot of fabric volume-wise).

I am now also selling all of our cones of thread. If you do a lot of stitching with certain colors, you can save a small fortune by purchasing a cone of that color. It works out to about 8 cents a skein when you buy it by the cone from us. Not all of the cones are full, but they are all sealed in plastic bags and clean. They are up on the website now. These sizes of cones are not generally available to the public, and certainly not at these clearance prices.

Plus, these cones are really cool looking and are great to show off or to decorate your stitching room. Since they are never sold directly to consumers, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and a first-come-first served basis!

I will also be putting up some of our framed stitched models for sale too over the next few days. So if you want a pre-stitched copy of one of these designs, you are welcome to order them.

OK, This just pushed me over the edge!! I have looked at some of the past mysteries but never signed up for one. After seeing this sale mentioned, I went just to browse. Anyway, once there, I got the 28 ct Jobelan, Victoria-fell in love with her and then didn't order out of a catalog, and the ongoing mystery for my mom who LOVES hummingbirds.

I received my fabric today from CraftSoft. I am very impressed by the quality. I ordered both the Mushroom evenweave and the light blue Jobelan. I'm extremely pleased with both of them.

The evenweave is pre-cut and the perfect size for a variety of projects. The neutral color will work with almost any design. There was A LOT of fabric included in the package and I'll be stitching on it for A LONG TIME. :lol

This year I'll probably use some of it to make Christmas ornaments. I think the natural type color will give a traditional feel to them.

I have to admit, the Jobelan is my favorite.

It is a pale blue color and so will work with many designs. I don't remember the actual color name. Chris? You told me the color of the Jobelan in chat a couple of weeks ago but I don't remember.

The fabric texture is so soft it will be a pleasure to stitch on. I wish I had ordered A LOT more of this!!!

The Jobelan colour is "Forget-Me-Not" blue. I believe it is from Wichel. I just tried to order some, but Chris is sold of it, unfortunately. He tried to sell me the "Mushroom" evenweave, since he still has lots of that left. But so do I! :lol

I do have to agree with you though. That blue is gorgeous and I have several projects in mind for the amount I do have.

Podkayne, thanks for letting me know the color name for the blue Jobelan. I like to note with my fabric the type, color, and count but couldn't remember the actual color name for the Jobelan. Now I can put down "Forget-Me-Not" blue. Even the name of the fabric sounds pretty...such a pretty fabric.

That's too bad Chris is out of the Jobelan. After I received mine today I went to the CraftSoft site again and was going to order more. It's no longer on the site so I figured it was sold out.

Still, I'll enjoy using what I've got.

Hi Gail,

Sorry about taking so long to get back to you, but I've been occupied with another task that has been taking all of my efforts for the past long while.

I'm glad you liked the fabric. The mushroom fabric is made by MCG Textiles, so it's a US-Made product which is also available at most craft stores in a lot of additional colors. Just so you know that you don't always have to buy German-made fabric to get good quality.

As PodkayneMars said, the color of the blue is Wichelt Jobelan "Forget-Me-Not" blue. And it's unfortunately all gone now.

For anybody who is interested, there is still plenty of the mushroom evenweave and the two aida colors available.

To reduce administrative costs, CraftSoft will be closing off its merchant Visa/Mastercard account as of August 30, 2005. Some of the products will also be discontinued at that time as well.

At that point in time we will look at moving to a PayPal based payment system.

If you wish to order usinig a credit card (PayPal allows you to do that too, so you won't be shut out), please do so soon.

Paypal is not a problem for me either, as I do have an account, and I've never had any security problems whatsover; however, I decided to order more, and I thought there was an error in the shipping charges. It was twice what I paid last time and within a few dollars of the cost of the merchandise by itself. Chris, I don't mind paying a reasonable shipping fee, and I consider the $8 I paid before reasonable for $20 in merchandise, but $16.00+ is a little steep for an order of $20.

Hope I don't sound like a cheapskate, but I do love a bargain but not if I have to pay a fortune in shipping to get it. I'm just puzzled that the shipping has doubled. I don't mean to be abrasive at all; it's not in my nature.

It is calculated by weight, not by value of goods. Some items like the thread cones and fabric weigh about 1.25lbs (quite heavy compared to our other stuff), even though they are only being sold for $20. Sometimes the shopping cart bumps the prices up to the next shipping weight category, and I always lowered the shipping cost accordingly when I charged the credit card. If you want, you can email me the list of things you are looking at and I'll be happy to weigh them exactly to tell you what the final shipping cost will be. Shipping from Canada to the US is always more expensive than shipping domestically. As an example, we've shipped single orders to Hobby Lobby by courier where the shipping cost alone was in excess of $3,000 for one international shipment. If we had done the same things domestically, the cost would have probably been a third or half of that. It's just one of the nasty realities of this world. -- Chris
